A Luna Lovegood subscription box? YES.

I hadn’t planned to do another news-type post, but then I saw on PopSugar that Luna Lovegood (ok, the actress who plays Luna) is starting her own vegan, cruelty-free beauty subscription box.

YAS LUNA YASSSSS!

From here on I’m going to do my best to call this lovely, wonderful actress by her actual name, Evanna Lynch. As long as we can acknowledge that Luna is way better. And her portrayal of the character was so good that I struggle to separate them in my mind.

I’m obviously a huge Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood fan. She’s one of my favorite characters in the entire series. So many of the other female characters are two dimensional and boring (Cho Chang and Ginny Weasley anyone?). In my mind, the only ones worth discussing are Hermione, Luna, and Bellatrix because they’re the only ones with any kind of personality. They’re intelligent, they have their own lives and motivations and aren’t terribly concerned about what other people think of them, and I really wish there was more of these characters in the series.

Anyway, Evanna is a feminist, podcaster, vegan activist, soon-to-be-published author, and she’s been open about her struggle with anorexia. She’s done a lot for someone so young and I love her almost as much as I love Luna.

If you’re interested in a cruelty-free beauty box and/or love Evanna, check out her Instagram. It’s really cute and she posts a lot of photos with and of her cat. Right now she has a survey looking for opinions/suggestions about the kinds of things we’d like to see in her subscription box. We don’t have a launch date or price yet, but we should have more details later this summer.

What do you think of this announcement? Do you think you’ll subscribe?
