MOTD: Procrastination edition

I don’t wanna work, I just wanna sleep in my bed all day…

I know that’s not how the song goes, but that’s what’s in my heart so I’m going to sing it that way.

Because today is the Mondayest of Tuesdays and I had a bunch of dumb meetings that required being on camera, I decided to do a basic look using the Nightingale palette that we all received in this month’s Boxycharm.

Now, I have some thoughts about this palette; I know a ton of people were disappointed and have canceled their subscriptions because they hate this palette so much, but I’m really happy with it. The only other cool-toned palettes I own are the Naked 3, which I don’t love, and a Morphe palette that’s so huge that’s it’s a pain to take anywhere. I’m going to be traveling a lot in the next few months, so that’s in the back of my mind. This is compact with enough shades to do a few different looks, a big mirror, and even though it’s cardboard it feels sturdy and I wouldn’t worry about it being at the bottom of a suitcase.

I like the packaging a lot; I’m not a huge fan of cardboard but it is really cute. I like the birdcage theme. I’ve wanted to try Pretty Vulgar for a long time and haven’t convinced myself to spend the money. The shadows aren’t crazy pigmented but I’m ok with it since I don’t have a lot of experience with cool shadows and don’t want my looks to come out gross and muddy. I’m not ready to do a full review, but so far I like it.

Please excuse the bare ass walls of my new office; I have plans for my background that haven’t come to fruition yet. I did nothing with my hair other than wash it, but I used a new shampoo and I think I’m in love (don’t worry, review coming). I’m not wearing any face makeup, just skincare, brows, lids, and mascara.

Base – Nocturnal

Crease – Hide & Seek

Lid – Eye Spy

Outer v and lower lashline – Swoop

Mascara – IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara

Brows – The Browgal Instatint in Brown Hair 02

Did you get this palette in your Boxycharm? What do you think of it? Are you into cool toned palettes?
