Look who made an effort today!

Just a quick post to check in and show off the fact that I made an effort today! I got up almost on time and actually did my hair! I only had enough time left over for a 5-minute makeup routine before I had to be in a meeting for work, but still. Hair AND makeup, on a work day! It’s like I’m a whole new person.

So let’s talk products. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve already seen some of this. If not, what are you doing with your life?

Formulate custom shampoo and conditioner – I know custom products seem a bit bougie, but I’ve been loving this stuff. I’ve only been using it for a few days but my hair already feels smoother and has been more manageable. The only thing I don’t like is the scent I chose, “verdant”. Ick. Do not recommend.

Hask Cactus Water Weightless Moisture 5-in-1 Spray – I picked this up while I was in Florida out of pure necessity. The anti-frizz/humidity shield I brought down with me just wasn’t cutting it, so the day before Sarah’s wedding I ran into Walgreens in a near-panic looking for something that would help keep my hair relatively nice for photos. This stuff did the trick and bonus, it smells really nice.

Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer – I’m planning to do a more in-depth post about my current favorite styling tools, but I need to mention this one. I may have said this before, but I’m a complete idiot when it comes to hair. Anything other than air dried or a ponytail is beyond me. This tool gives my hair some added polish and volume, and I’m a fan.

Joah Brow Down To Me: Precision Brow Pencil in Brunette – It’s a brow pencil. It’s fine. Whatever.

The Creme Shop Wisp Me Away Dramatic Effect Waterproof Mascara – This is one of the many waterproof mascaras I purchased to get me through the haze of tears and Florida humidity that I knew were inevitable with Sarah’s wedding. I really enjoyed it the first few times I used it, but it’s only been open for a month and it’s already getting clumpy and a bit congealed looking. Not cool.

MAC x Patrick Starr RetroMatte Liquid Lipcolour in Ultimate Diva – This is the lipstick that came in the Oh No She Beta Don’t kit that’s currently on sale/clearance everywhere. Ulta seems to be out of it, but that’s where I originally purchased it. I really love it. I know that the color is a little dark but it gives me 90s vibes and I don’t hate it. I also like the MAC matte liquid formula more than I expected to. It’s light, doesn’t make my lips feel like the Sahara and doesn’t flake off when I talk. I also love that Patrick Starr’s signature is literally a dick and balls and no one at MAC noticed or cared when they slapped it all over the packaging. Solid.

Yes, this is a Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure t-shirt. Yes, it says “Be Excellent To Each Other”. Yes, I’m very amused by the fact that I generally use all of these fancy beauty products while being clad almost exclusively in weird pop culture t-shirts and ratty jeans. It’s my aesthetic, ok?

What do you think of MOTD posts like this? If you do these types of posts on your blog, leave me some links to check out! Also if you’d like to see more of my lovely face, leave me a comment, and I’ll make more of an effort to put myself on display like the narcissist I truly am.
