Hello friends.
Do I have any internet friends left? Do you guys remember me?
So I left the house today. Remember in the Before Times when that wasn’t that big a deal? It seems like a lifetime ago.
Anyway, we didn’t really do anything special, just got coffee and went for a drive, but it was nice to be out in the world with Dan. I was so happy about it that I made actual effort. On my face, not my hair, obvs.

Here’s what’s on my face:
Origins GinZing SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturizer
IT Cosmetics CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder in Light
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow in Soft Ochre
Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara
Avon Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara (If you’re interested in purchasing this and want to shop with a representative, head over to see Hopelessly Heather. She can be your Avon lady too.)
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in 3 Medium
Aquaphor Lip Repair + Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (y’all, it’s hot and I spend all of my time in the a/c. My lips are dry af. Lipstick is just too much for me right now.)
So that’s it from me today. It’s taken me half a day to muster the energy to write this. Yay pandemic and the complete absence of creative energy. I hope you’re all taking care of yourselves, mentally, physically and emotionally. I think that if I keep being so *blah* I’m just going to start posting cute animal photos.
Aww, thank you for the shout out!
I totally get what you mean—going out in the world AT ALL seems like an event these days. I also have lacked energy—creative or otherwise. It’s definitely been an interesting time.

I’ve been able to get home and visit and go out a little more in the last few weeks, so I’m feeling better than I have in months. I hope you start feeling better soon too! How are things going in your city?

Terribly. Portland is all over the national news regarding the riots—and, of course, there’s a resurgence of COVID. I’ve been working from home since mid-March, and probably will until 2021. I’m mostly okay with that, but most things around here are closed. I miss eating out at restaurants.

Oh shit, I didn’t realize you were that close to Portland. I have friends there so I’ve heard all about it. They won’t leave their houses at all right now. I hope things get better fast.
I miss restaurants, but not as much as I miss libraries, and the simple pleasure of sitting in a coffee shop for an hour for a change of scenery during the day.

Yup, I actually work in downtown Portland, but live just over the river in Vancouver, WA. During the day, it’s relatively safe (but super sad seeing all the damage and destruction), but things get out of hand after dark. I’ve had to go into the office several times since the riots started. I hope things get resolved soon too—we can’t begin to recover/rebuild as a society until all the unrest ceases.
Restaurants were my primary way of socializing. I have to eat, so would regularly meet up with friends and family to kill two birds. Now I’m killing zero birds. 😦
