You all know that I'm into creepy things. I love skulls and horror and 90% of my podcast playlists are either true crime or paranormal. I like being scared. It's just my thing. My other thing is writing, and as much as I told myself that this is my blog and I can put whatever... Continue Reading →
I talked a while ago about a podcast I love, Ghosts in the Burbs. This week’s installment is about a place I’ve been.
The introduction may be a little confusing if you’re not a regular listener; there are names in there that you likely haven’t heard before. But the couple in this story supposedly spend the night in a haunted location near my hometown. A location I’ve visited with some of my favorite ladies. It’s worth a read, and if you like it, maybe go back and read from the beginning. You won’t be disappointed.
“Are you hearing anything now?” Adam asked excitedly.
I told him I hadn’t and that I usually didn’t, that it was a rare occurrence as of late. It was a lie. As I’d watched the man and his fiancé walk through Quebrada’s front door Claire had cautioned, “Be careful with those two.”
The truth was that Claire had stuck around after that night in Smith and Wollensky’s when I’d broken the news of her freedom to the three witches who’d bound her in between. After that night she’d told me that there had been a chance to move on and her boyfriend had taken it but she had chosen to stay behind. She said Wellesley was just getting good and that I was just getting started.
The dead were speaking, but not very often and when they did it wasn’t all that informative or helpful. Claire’s voice rose above…

I've talked about fear already during this creepy high holy season, but the fears I mentioned weren't paranormal in nature. Those fears were relatively minor compared to the things I want to talk about today. So, at this point you all know that I'm a creepy bitch; I don't shy away from the paranormal and... We've been living in this apartment for a few months now, and not to be alarmist, but I think it might be a tiny bit haunted. Not in a scary way, just in a "Huh, that's odd" way. We live north of Albany proper in a town called Cohoes, in the "downtown" area. It only... Continue Reading →
As Halloween approaches, it's time to put my creepiness on display. I know that I complained about fall yesterday, but I'm really not that mad about it. This is the time of year when my love of scary things goes from off-puttingly odd to charmingly enthusiastic. From now until Halloween I'm on trend, yo. Anyway.... Continue Reading →
This isn't the post I planned for today. I had intended to write about exploring my new city (which I suppose could include this) or maybe showing y'all the Allure beauty box that showed up in my mail unexpectedly. But no... it's paranormal storytime again. To be clear, nothing outwardly or obviously paranormal happened to... Continue Reading →
A few months ago I posted about one of my new favorite podcasts, Para(normal). I had sent her some personal experiences and she read them on a recent episode, also giving me (and this blog) a shoutout. Yes, I fangirled. Yes, I'm sad that they're over the border and we can't be best friends. Anyway,... Continue Reading →
Most of the time when I go on long-distance road trips I listen to podcasts and audiobooks instead of music. Because I'm a weirdo. I know. On my last trip to Michigan I was bored with the dating podcast I'd been listening to (I might talk about it in a different post because it was... Continue Reading →
I picked this book up at Haslam's in St. Petersburg, Florida, one of the biggest and coolest bookstores I've ever seen in my life. I was so overwhelmed by the sheer size of this place that I didn't take any photos, but trust me, it's amazing. Supposedly it's also haunted, but that's another story. Unfortunately... I know I've mentioned it in passing, but recently I've been super into podcasts. I used to find them incredibly boring, but I was also listening primarily to This American Life and Savage Lovecast, which are good, but after a while get a little redundant. I mean, how many times can you listen to Dan... Continue Reading →
Guys. One of my favorite podcasts gave me a shout out in the most recent episode for my topic idea/patronage. I'm kind of excited. I know you guys are into creepy shit so check them out. You can find the podcast on iTunes and Google Play in addition to their site. You can also check... Continue Reading →
Wow, you all really seemed to respond to my ghost post. That's awesome. Here's another long, detailed, paranormal post for you. Since I spent 90% of my drive home from Michigan listening to ghost-related podcasts, I thought I'd compile a list of the supposedly haunted places I'd most like to visit before I join the... Once again I know I'm coming at you out of left field, but this is something I've spent a lot of time thinking about. Not just recently but for my entire life. I can remember being little, not more than 6 or 7, and bringing home a book from the school library called Wait Till Helen Comes about a... Continue Reading →
